I had heard a lot of stories about people taking IELTS many times before achieving their desired band scores. Initially, i started out training on my own. But later, I had to make out time to enroll for professional training. I wrote once, and I had Band 8.0 overall
I was almost getting frustrated with IELTS, having written twice and each time scoring below 6.5 [in] my Writing. Others were OK. Finally, a friend told me about these IELTS Excel guys, and that was it. Just four weeks training, and I had 7.5 in Writing for the first time
